Introducing Amjad Khan, our new Conveyancing Case Handler in South Shields

Based in our South Shields office, we'd like to introduce you to Amjad Khan who joined us at the start of July this year.
Now that he's settled into his new role as a Conveyancing Case Handler with us at Sort Legal, we took some time to get to know him more...
How have you found it at Sort Legal so far?
It’s been lovely! The team is welcoming, and the environment is far less stressful. They are very understanding of the trials and tribulations of conveyancing.
What made you want to join our Sort Legal team?
I wanted to experience the Conveyancing process from a different perspective and grow my skills.
What did you do before joining Sort Legal?
I was a Conveyancer in Muve (through their Sri Lankan office) and learned the Conveyancing process through there.
Tell us something a few people know about you?
I used to be very into motivational speaking in my early 20s. I’m better at self-motivating now, so not as vocal about it!
Do you have any hobbies or interests outside of work?
I’m a big fan of animation, and I enjoy playing video games quite a bit. I play more Japan-created ones than others.
What's your favourite holiday destination?
Japan, for sure. Big on the bucket list soon.
How would your friends and family describe you in 3 words?
Headstrong, smart and understanding.
A genie grants you one wish, what do you wish for?
I don’t have as many, so I’d probably try to solve one of my wife’s problems! Happy wife, happy life, as they say.
What did you want to be when you were young?
Chef actually.
What would you say to someone looking to start a career in Conveyancing?
Understand a summary of the process that would be common for a standard purchase. Save any reusable templates as you go that aren’t commonly available, and ask as many questions as you can when you get into the specifics of the process. Cutting corners to save time will not do you any good in the long run.
