When starting a career in Conveyancing, it can all seem a little overwhelming. There is A LOT to learn. New words, phrases and technical terms can sometimes leave you with your head in a spin; however, here at Sort Legal, we are committed to providing extra training to ensure your success.
We want our teams to feel comfortable with the information they are providing. We want our newest recruits to feel settled within their roles.
To help us do this, we have taken on Victoria Calladine as our new in-house trainer.
Victoria is a fully qualified Conveyancer and has over 15 years of experience in the industry.
This week we spent some time getting to know Victoria and how her role benefits our new starters.
Can you describe your role to us?
I am here to provide legal training for all staff at Sort Legal. I am also a new point of contact for legal queries and technical issues and guide our new and current team.
What made you want to start a career in Conveyancing?
I enjoy problem-solving, I also love helping others. Conveyancing requires excellent attention to detail and some form of technical knowledge. You advise practical solutions to real people, which is what I love about my role.
Have you always wanted to work in Conveyancing?
I was initially interested in criminal law and family law. Still, once I started dealing with Conveyancing, I found that there are so many different aspects to learn, and it interested me to gain further knowledge. People usually only see a lawyer when something has gone wrong, and Conveyancing is one of the only times people achieve something good.
What are the benefits of having an in-house trainer?
Recruits will benefit from additional support from the start of their journey with Sort Legal. All staff are also provided with up-to-date training tailored to their specific needs to enable everyone to offer an excellent service to our clients.
What support do you offer apprentices?
For all of our apprentices, one to one training is provided. This helps them understand the conveyancing process in detail. It also provides them with a safe space to speak openly about any concerns or additional support needed. All processes and procedures are explained in great detail throughout the training program.
What do you enjoy most about your role?
I enjoy helping people to gain knowledge and understanding of Conveyancing. It is excellent for me to see people's passion for Conveyancing grow along with their careers.
How would you describe working at Sort Legal?
It's great to have so many people keen to learn more and progress in their careers. It's a supportive environment with excellent IT resources.
What are your short term and long-term goals for your training role at Sort Legal?
I’m looking to try and encourage everyone to achieve their potential, whether they want to become qualified conveyancers or experts in their roles.
