Introducing Numan Miah, our new Client Inception Executive in our South Shields office

24 Nov 2024

A big welcome to Numan Miah, our new Client Inception Executive in our South Shields office. Numan started with us in July, and has settled in nicely. We took some time to get to know him better...

How have you found it at Sort Legal so far?

It has been very pleasant, enjoyable and intellectually cathartic. Learning and understanding the ins and outs of what goes into ensuring that remortgages and wider matters in conveyancing is performed accurately has been fulfilling. Especially for someone like me who enjoys learning the theory and putting it to practical use.

What made you want to join our Sort Legal team?

I was informed of a role by my friend (Laura Wrightson) who was based in the South Shields branch. She had many positive things to say about Sort Legal and the people overall, which stood out for me a great deal as she had been working here for about a month, and her perception was overwhelmingly positive. This was exceptionally persuasive for me as how a company treats its people, the approach to clients, work ethics and a sense of openness with the staff, especially the senior staff and other aspects are important to me. This was furthered after I had an interview with Keith and Nicola.

What Laura said and was on Sort Legal’s website was not lip service but a fundamental part of the work culture here, and I really like that.

What did you do before joining Sort Legal?

I used to be a Compliance Assistant for a private dental practice. I was strongly involved in ensuring and following up on staff relevant experience and qualifications and adhering to healthcare-related laws and regulations, including those from the General Dental Council.

Tell us something a few people know about you?

I like opera in particular Carmen and Pagliacci.

What would your perfect day off look like?

A leisurely walk through a meadow with some sun and a light breeze.

What did you want to be when you were young?

An Astronomer.

What was your favourite subject in school and why?

Maths because, quite frequently, it demonstrated that there is no one correct way to resolve problems, and that has translated quite a lot to many things I do. To know the rules of the box and how to think outside of the box.

Where do you see yourself in 5 years time?

Professionally, furthering and growing my career and guiding those that are finding their place.

Recreationally, I would like to have painted more canvas’ and improved in drawing people and animals. Also, it would be great to go abroad, explore places, take a bad shortcut because I read the map wrong and discover places that are tucked away and delightful.

What do you think you can bring to Sort Legal?

Taking a tactful approach with clients and colleagues alike is important, as working in conveyancing can be very stressful. Being able to manage client expectations and communicate clearly and respectfully is important in fostering good relationships and maintaining Sort Legal's stellar reputation.

What would you say to someone looking to start a career in Conveyancing?

To explore the many different areas in Conveyancing as they can be rather varied and have a different flavour to each other, all across the clients, colleague’s and work we do. It provides a wide range of knowledge and experience.
