We're delighted to welcome Ruksana Hoque to the Sort Legal team! Stepping into the role of Client Inception Team Leader, she's already made a positive impact, bringing strong leadership qualities and a fresh perspective to the role. Her focus is to provide clients with a positive onboarding experience, and create a supportive environment for her team.

How have you found it at Sort Legal so far? 

I’m really enjoying it, everyone is super friendly and there’s a great atmosphere, I look forward to coming in and seeing everyone.

Tell us a bit about your role with the company…

I’m the Team Leader for New Business - my team is responsible for client onboarding and ensuring the initial work is complete before it is passed over to our fee earners. We are also the first port of call for clients at Sort Legal, so I strive to ensure we are delivering a pleasant and welcoming atmosphere to all our clients

What made you want to join our Sort Legal team?

I joined because I was looking for a new challenge in my career and something that would make me step out of my comfort zone. I’m looking to grow my career in conveyancing, and I definitely think Sort Legal can provide the opportunities to do so.

What are the key skills required to manage a successful client inception team? 

I would say the top skills required are open communication/active listening, resilience/adaptability, and problem solving. 

Communication/Active listening: It’s important that I communicate with my team what is required of them, but I believe it’s also important to listen actively to what they need and I will always take that on board. I strive to provide a safe space where my team feels confident and comfortable approaching me with their needs and concerns.

Resilience/Adaptability: Every day is a different day in this role, and it brings new experiences, so being resilient and being able to adapt is an essential skill to have.

Problem solving: Analysing situations, identifying the problems, and developing effective solutions - that’s a must!

How would your friends and family describe you in 3 words?

Conversationalist, funny, and a big foodie! 

How would you spend your perfect day off?

Brunch and walks with my favourite people - I’m a sucker for a good sunrise/sunset.

What’s one thing on your bucket list? 

Skydiving! 

What would you say to someone looking to start a career in Conveyancing?

Do it! It’s definitely a fast-paced environment and very engaging, but if you thrive off that kind of energy, you will love it.
