Meet Our New Head Of Legal Practice - Rhodri Howells

23 Nov 2024

Rhodri Howells has now been promoted to Head of Legal Practice here at Sort Legal!

Rhodri has worked in Conveyancing since 2004, and he has a wealth of knowledge and experience that we're super excited about. We have pulled together a special Q&A to help our customers get to know Rhodri on a more personal level.

How long have you worked at Sort Legal?

Nearly 2 years

What are you most looking forward to in your new role?

I'm looking forward to Shaping the company's approach to Conveyancing and acting as a mentor to those whose careers are in their infancy. I am passionate about training and want all our staff to understand the conveyancing process and its law deeply.

What would you like to achieve in the next year?

I want to build this company into a respected major player in the conveyancing world. I want to work with the in house IT and developers we have at Sort Group to evaluate and implement the new technologies coming on the market to enhance our client's experience.

Tell us a little more about your previous roles; what did you do before Sort Legal?

I worked in a high street firm undertaking local and national volume work - the best of both worlds.

What do you love most about working in our Cardiff Office?

I love that the office is in Cardiff's historic industrial buildings. It's a proper piece of history that has been sympathetically modernised. Several other companies are in the building, so there is a real sense of community. The offices are open plan over two spaces to foster a sense of community, and everyone can help and support each other. We also have an on-site Cafe and use of a free gym.

When looking at Sort Legal, why should someone join the team?

Sort legal are uniquely equipped to embrace the future of Conveyancing. Legal knowledge and client care will always be essential, but technology use and implementation are becoming a massive part of the conveyancing process.

At Sort Group, we have in house IT and developers who are constantly looking into new technologies that can make the process smoother to improve client experience. There can be some scepticism over change and the latest technology in this industry. Here at Sort, we embrace it!

Why would you encourage someone to gain a Career in Conveyancing?

It's an exciting time for Conveyancing. The career can be hugely rewarding - you are guiding people through the most significant purchase they will ever make in their life.

Aside from the financial aspect, most clients are emotionally invested in the transactions and helping clients achieve their dream brings a smile to your face. Conveyancing develops many skills, from in-depth technical legal knowledge to managing relationships with clients and introducers. There is something for everyone!

Tell us something that no one knows about you?

When I was in the 6th Form, I had a job driving an ice cream van around the beaches of Pembrokeshire….
