We're pleased to introduce to you our new starter, Bethan Rees.
Bethan has a wealth of knowledge working in law firms. We're excited to have her on board and for her to share this with our team. This week we took some time to get to know Bethan personally. We quizzed her and found some fascinating facts; check them out below!
How has your first week at Sort Legal Cardiff been?
My first week has been great. Everyone is very welcoming and friendly. The working environment is much more relaxed than what I am used to, but this benefits all with less tension and more productivity.
What attracted you to Sort Legal?
The training and progression opportunities and the more modern and technology-driven approach towards the conveyancing process.
What do you love most about working in our Cardiff office?
I like the proximity to the city centre, and the building has many other facilities and businesses so more opportunities to meet people, do new things, socialise etc.
Why did you choose a career in conveyancing?
In all honesty, I didn't; it chose me. When I wanted to get out of personal injury law, I was offered a job in a conveyancing department, and as they say, the rest is history.
Tell us about your previous experience. What did you do before Sort Legal?
I have worked in multiple law firms in Cardiff, firstly doing personal injury law and then on to conveyancing with a couple of smaller family firms before joining Sort Legal.
Who inspires you?
My mother. The challenges she has dealt with and continues to deal with and the support and love she gives to all is something I aspire to do.
Tell us something few people know about you.
Law and conveyancing were not my first calling; I am a professionally trained classical and choral singer who sang with the Richard Williams Choir and Welsh National Opera for many years.
If you could live anywhere in the world, where would it be and why?
It would depend on where my family were, but if I could move them all to a seafront house on a lovely warm beach somewhere, that would be great.
Where do you see yourself in five years?
Working my way up the corporate ladder from where I am now and seeing how far I can climb in five years, no one should set themselves a limit of where they should be; keep trying for better until you are happy where you are.
Do you have any hobbies or interests outside of work?
I like spending time with family and friends, days out, socialising, weekends away or being at concerts and theatres.
