Meet Our New Starter - Bryan Cantor

Sort Legal has recently hired new team members. These range from Remortgage Assistants, Conveyancing Assistants and Apprentices.
Bryan Cantor is one of our newest team members, joining our specialist Remortgage team. This week we caught up with Bryan to discuss his Sort Legal journey so far and get to know him on a more personal level.

What is your Job title at Sort Legal?
Remortgage paralegal
What made you want to join the Sort Legal team?
I wanted a career change. I've worked in hospitality for 3 years before working in conveyancing and wanted to try something different, and I am enjoying every bit of my time here!
What did you do before Sort Legal? Tell us about your previous experience?
I used to be a bartender for a restaurant called Ego at the Hollybush. If you ever need an expert pint pourer or mixologist, then I'm definitely the man.
What are your career goals for the next year?
My goals for next year are to take on more cases, both complex and straightforward. Lastly, to gain more knowledge in general about conveyancing.
Tell us something most people don't know about you?
I love going to pub quizzes, but I'm terrible with random general knowledge questions.
What's your favourite way to spend a day off?
I believe the best way to spend the day off is to go to a city and explore what the city offers, whether it's going to the back streets and seeing all of the independent shops or just walking around and enjoying the atmosphere of the city.
How would you describe working at Sort Legal?
Everyone is very friendly and willing to help. Everyone helps each other and learns more and more about the job. Whether it is someone new (Like me) or someone who's worked here for a while, everyone is constantly helping each other and learning together. It can also be surprisingly fast-paced.
Who inspires you?
My older brother did law at university before me and introduced me to this sector.
If you could only eat one meal for the rest of your life, what would it be?
Potatoes. You can boil them, mash them, or stick them in a stew.
If you could live in any city, where would it be and why?
Dublin. Having been there for a weekend once, I fell in love with everything about the city.
What would you say to someone who is looking to start a career in conveyancing at Sort Legal?
Conveyancing may look daunting at first hearing new words that you may not have heard before, but it is a very rewarding area of law. The problem-solving aspect of this position is definitely what makes this position unique so enjoy the ride!
