We're delighted to welcome Tandy Maphosa to our Sort Legal firm! Stepping into our New Business team as our Client Inception Executive, Tandy has settled in amazingly and is getting stuck into supporting our clients, brokers and agents with their onboarding journey.
We caught up with her to get to know her more...
Tell us a bit about your role with the company…
I’m a Client Inception Executive, I spend most of my morning answering inbound calls from clients, brokers, estate agents and solicitors. These tend to be questions about their case which I pass on to case handlers or their assistants. Some questions are about the onboarding process which I or another member of my team would deal with.
During the afternoon, I tend to spend my time completing ID checks ensuring that all the requirements are met and that everything aligns with our processes. I also spend time responding to clients' emails about any required documents we may need to complete their onboarding.
How have you found it at Sort Legal so far?
I’m currently enjoying my time at Sort Legal, it’s met all my expectations. Everything that I learnt and was told about the company is an active day to day practice. Everyone who I've encountered within the company has been so welcoming, friendly and supportive. I've had all the required training to ensure that I was fully prepared for the role. My team leader and colleagues are extremely supportive and have always been open to helping wherever possible. From the recruitment process to getting settled in the role, everyone involved has made the process smooth and less intimidating.
What did you do before joining Sort Legal?
Before joining Sort Legal, I attended Nottingham University and studied Property Finance and Investment. During this time, I was also a hair braiding business owner. I also worked as a children's residential support worker during my second year of uni.
What made you want to join our Sort Legal team?
I wanted to work at Sort Legal because it combined two things that I'm passionate about, property and client service. I really enjoy helping people feel supported and informed. The company also focuses on efficiency, client care and innovation in the property sector which really aligns with my values and career goals.
Do you have any interesting hobbies or interests outside of work?
I really enjoy playing sports such as tennis and football and light daily exercising. Outside of that, I enjoy spending time with family and friends. Especially watching my brother play football every Sunday.
How would you spend your perfect day off?
I’d have a late morning then probably go for a nice afternoon brunch with my sister. If it's a nice warm day, I’d go to the park with my friend and play some tennis for a bit, then a nice home cooked meal whilst watching Devious Maids with a glass of pink Moscato at hand.
What’s one thing on your bucket list?
In the next couple of years, I want to dedicate time into visiting and learning more about Japan, I want to visit different parts of it and really delve into the culture.
What’s one song that’s always on your playlist?
III.Telegraph Ave. (“Oakland” by Lloyd)- Childish Gambino
If you had the chance to know the future, what would you want to find out?
This is kind of morbid, but if I had a chance to know the future, I'd like to know the day I die.
What would you say to someone looking to start a career in Conveyancing?
I would say if you enjoy problem solving, like fast-paced environments, have a strong attention to detail and have good communication skills, you should really consider a career in Conveyancing. You’ll be in an environment where you’re constantly learning. Starting in an entry level position can be very beneficial, because you’ll get the opportunity to learn the systems and how to communicate well with brokers, estate agents, solicitors and clients.
