Introducing Nicola Henton, our Branch Manager for our South Shields office.

Based in our South Shields office, we'd like to introduce you to Nicola Henton who joined us back in August.
Now that she's settled into her new role as a Branch Manager for our new South Shields office at Sort Legal, we took some time to get to know her more...
What did you do before joining Sort Legal?
This is a tricky one to answer, because I still do my old job too! As well as heading up the South Shields office, I’m also a qualified mortgage adviser for Hello Mortgage, and an estate agent for Estatio. The days are full but extremely varied and no day is the same.
How are you finding your role as Branch Manager so far?
I truly love being part of the Sort Group and overseeing the office. The team are fantastic and we work together very well. Every day comes with its own challenges but everyone works together to provide support and encouragement.
Tell us something a few people know about you.
I was diagnosed with Crohn’s Disease when I was 24. It can be tough to manage during flare-ups, but all in all, I’ve been very lucky since diagnosis
What is your favourite song of all time and why?
Honestly, this depends what day it is. I have quite a varied taste in music so my favourite song could be anything from Taylor Swift’s Folklore to Noel Gallagher ('If I had a Gun' is one of my favourites ever!) to some 2000’s pop-punk emo bands. It really depends on the day!
How would your friends and family describe you?
I’d love to say they would describe me as a good friend, a nice person to be around and someone who they can rely on to celebrate the highs and commiserate the lows.
If you could live anywhere in the world, where would it be and why?
I’m not sure I could ever leave the North East permanently, we have so much here! I’d happily do an extended break in Italy though!
What would you say to someone looking to start a career in the property or legal industry?
There are so many career options in property, legals and finance and I’ve been lucky enough to be involved in them all. Going into one industry doesn’t always mean you stay there, and having encouragement from your employer is a huge help. Give it a go!
