Based in our Derby Head office, we'd like to introduce you to Arshana Anuraj who joined us at the start of June this year.
Now that she's settled into her new role as a Remortgage Paralegal with us at Sort Legal, we took some time to get to know her more...
How have you found it at Sort Legal so far?
It’s been such a wonderful place to work at. Everyone is super helpful and supportive. The training process has been so informative.
What made you want to join our Sort Legal team?
The chance to acquire more insight into the property industry and expand my legal knowledge.
What did you do before joining Sort Legal?
After graduating in law, I worked as a tax analyst for two years, specialising in Stamp Duty Land Tax.
Tell us something a few people know about you?
I enjoy experimenting with new recipes and cooking techniques in my spare time. It’s a creative outlet that allows me to unwind and indulge in delicious food.
Who inspires you?
I would say my parents inspire me. They came into this country with not much and built a beautiful life through hard work and resilience. I aspire to follow in their footsteps.
What was your favourite subject in school and why?
My favourite subject was history. I loved learning about different cultures, events and figures from the past. It was fascinating to see how historical events have shaped the world we live in today.
Describe your dream home.
My dream home would be a cosy modern house by a forest or lake. It would have big windows for lots of light and beautiful views, surrounded by acres of land to grow my own food.
How would your friends and family describe you in 3 words?
Supportive, empathetic and caring
If you could live anywhere in the world, where would it be and why?
I would love to live in Sri Lanka, it's where my parents were raised. A tropical island known for its stunning landscapes, rich cultural heritage and delicious cuisine.
What would you say to someone looking to start a career in Conveyancing?
Starting a career in Conveyancing can be rewarding, especially if you enjoy legal processes and helping clients navigate property transactions.
