We're pleased to announce we have a new member of staff, Daniel Shaw. Daniel has joined the Sort Legal team as a Client Inception Executive.
It's an exciting time to join Sort Legal as we continue to grow, and we are pleased to have Daniel with us for the journey. This week we spent some time with Daniel, getting to know him personally, his work history and his reasons for joining the team.
Read our interesting Q&A to learn more about Daniel and his new role.
What attracted you to Sort Legal?
I was first attracted to Sort Legal because I enjoyed studying Land Law and Property Conveyancing at University. When I saw the opportunity to work for a Property Conveyancing company, it was too good to let pass.
What did you do before joining the team? Tell us about your previous experience?
Before joining the team, I studied the LLM LPC at Nottingham Trent University while working part-time as a Paralegal at Carter Thomas, an immigration law firm.
How's your first week been?
My first week has gone well; I have been pleased to meet so many of the team, and it has been a pleasant experience because of how friendly everyone here is.
What encouraged you to take up a career in Conveyancing?
I enjoyed studying Property Law and Conveyancing at University, so I want to have a career in Conveyancing.
Who are your biggest inspirations?
My biggest inspirations are my mum and grandad. But, outside of my family, I would say my biggest inspirations are Jeffrey Chaucer and the Queen.
If money was no object, what would your perfect home look like?
I'd love a lovely old-fashioned cottage with plenty of character. However, not too big as it'd take all my time on cleaning and maintenance.
If you could live anywhere in the world, where would it be?
Probably Canada. When I went there on holiday, I wanted to stay (more than I have anywhere else I have ever been).
Tell us something few people know about you?
Something that not many people know about me is that I am a member of the Conservative Party.
Describe your perfect day off?
I would go and visit a new area of the country and walk around, stopping to have afternoon tea in a café. Then I would go home and have a takeaway, watch my favourite films or play my favourite video games before listening to music before bed.
Where do you see yourself in 5 years?
I see myself as a qualified solicitor in 5 years, having bought a house, with the ability to travel more and see different countries every year.
