Meet Our New Starter - Lydia Bent

We have a new member of our Remortgage Paralegal team, Lydia Bent.
We're excited to have Lydia on the team and can't wait to help develop her career. As part of Lydia's welcome to Sort Legal, we asked her to participate in our Q&A, helping us get to know her personally.

What attracted you to Sort Legal?
I'd probably say that Conveyancing is always an area of law that I have been interested in, and I liked how friendly and welcoming the company seemed.
What did you do before joining the team? Tell us about your previous experience?
Before joining Sort Legal, I completed my LPC LLM. My last exam was the Friday before I started.
How's your first week been?
So far, my first week has been great; everyone has been friendly and welcoming. I can't wait to get properly started.
What encouraged you to take up a career in Conveyancing?
I first started being interested in Conveyancing when I studied Land Law as part of my LLB, and then after looking at Property as part of my LPC, I knew it was the area I wanted to work in.
Who are your biggest inspirations?
My parents are my biggest inspirations as they always encouraged me to push myself to be able to do anything I wanted to do.
If money was no object, what would your perfect home look like?
Probably a farm; I'd love to be able to have loads of cows as they are my favourite animals.
Do you have a favourite holiday destination?
My favourite holiday destination has always been Cornwall, but I'm going to Greece this year, and that might quickly take the top spot.
Tell us something few people know about you?
I still love old One Direction songs, even though they've been broken up for years.
What song best sums you up?
Just a Cloud Away by Pharrell Williams. I think it's just such a happy song!
Where do you see yourself in 5 years?
In 5 years, I'd probably see myself still working within Conveyancing and hopefully having a house and some pets with my boyfriend.
