Meet our new starter, Claudia. She joined us in June and has taken on her new role as Apprentice Administration Assistant in the Remortgage team brilliantly.
We caught up with Claudia to find out how she's finding everything so far.
How have you found your first couple of months at Sort Legal?
I have really enjoyed my first few months at Sort Legal. Everyone in my team has been incredibly helpful and supportive while I have been learning all the different aspects of my role.
What attracted you to Sort Legal?
I liked the idea of being able to work and earn my own money while also learning and doing my college work. Sort Legal seemed like the perfect fit for me based on everything I had heard, and from the work experience I had recently.
How did you hear about Sort Legal?
My mum works at Sort Legal, which allowed me to hear about the open apprenticeship spot and apply.
Why did you choose to start your apprenticeship in Conveyancing?
A few family members have all been doing roles based around or in conveyancing. I’ve always been interested when hearing about it, but I didn’t realise how much I would actually enjoy it until I started.
Who inspires you?
My mum inspires me every day. She works incredibly hard and always puts her all into every piece of work she does. She raised me and my brother on her own while juggling university and her work here at Sort Legal and I couldn’t be more grateful to have such a strong and beautiful role model.
If you could have one superpower what would it be and why?
If I could have one superpower it would be the power to fly. I think it would be awesome to be able to fly wherever I’d like, I’d be able to skip traffic and travel wherever I wanted!
What is your all-time favourite movie?
My all-time favourite movie has to be The Lion King. I’ve loved it since I was little and have rewatched it a million times. I even have plans to name my cat after one of the characters!
Tell us something few people know about you?
One thing not many people know about me is that I love to draw and read. I’m not very good at drawing but it’s still something I love doing and I keep trying to improve on whenever I have the time.
If you could live anywhere in the world where would it be?
If I could live anywhere in the world, it would definitely have to be Italy. Somewhere by the water, in a cosy cottage in a small village with a beautiful view sounds like the most perfect place to live ever for me.
Finally, what advice would you give something just starting their career in conveyancing?
I would advise to try your best and make notes! I found everything so tricky and complicated at the beginning, but after making notes on the process and what certain words mean, it made life so much easier as I could just look back whenever I was stuck. I still use my notes even now if I forget how to do something.
